Happenings and Such....

The washer is fixed, but not before Scott went to Oklahoma. I'll spare the embarrassing details. So, on to new disasters.....
We got our back brakes switched today....and rotors.....and repair to the A/C system. Andrew had an eye doctor appt and he sees fine. Taylor had a podiatrist appt and he has flat feet (I paid for that diagnosis?!) Lucas visited again yesterday. It is fun to have him visit. He loves going to the grove and slurping juice from fresh oranges. It was a warm afternoon so we went looking for gators and boy did we hit the jackpot. There were probably a dozen or so in and around the lake in front of the old shell pit. We actually got pretty close to a couple of them.

We went to the beach on Saturday. I don't have any recent beach pictures so I'll attach a funny one from October:

Also, about the time the above picture was taken, I was upstaged in my own home. I like to karaoke and thought I was pretty good...but on this night I was bested by Darrel's rendition of Little Red Riding Hood:

Lastly, the impossible happened. All the kids at our house lined up and ready for prayers at the same time (well, almost):

The Washer Incident

So Scott gets a call at 5:05pm today from a frantic Janna. The washer was spewing water from the bottom and it would not turn off. Scott drove home quickly and found that Janna had indeed managed to turn the water off. It turned out to be a night of trudging through water, cleaning water out of closets, draining the washer, troubleshooting, draining the washer again, internet research, taking the washer apart, and pulling out the water inlet valve. Scott leaves for Oklahoma tomorrow afternoon so we are hoping we can (1) find the part in Orlando, (2) have Janna run to pick it up and bring it back in time for (3) Scott to reinstall it at lunch so that (4) Janna can wash some clothes so (5) Scott has clothes to wear in Oklahoma. If any one of those steps fails to happen (or happens too slow) it could be a pretty embarrassing trip to Oklahoma.

We count ourselves blessed because these type of disasters usually happen after Scott leaves.
